Savage With An Ax Tries To Kill A Civilized Man And His 5-Year-Old Grand-Daughter

Attempt to Kill Danish Cartoonist Fails

COPENHAGEN (AP) — The police foiled an attempt to kill an artist who drew a cartoon depicting the Prophet Muhammad that sparked outrage in the Muslim world, the head of Denmark’s intelligence service said Saturday.

Jakob Scharf, who heads PET, the Danish intelligence service, said a 28-year-old Somalia man was armed with an ax and a knife when he tried to enter the home of the artist, Kurt Westergaard, in Aarhus on Friday evening.

The attack on Mr. Westergaard, whose rendering was among 12 that led to the burning of Danish diplomatic offices in predominantly Muslim countries in 2006, was “terror related,” Mr. Scharf said in a statement.

“The arrested man has according to PET’s information close relations to the Somali terrorist group, Al Shabab, and Al Qaeda leaders in eastern Africa,” he said.

The man was suspected of having been involved in terror-related activities during a stay in East Africa and had been under PET’s surveillance, but not in connection with Mr. Westergaard, Mr. Scharf said.

The police shot the Somali man in a knee and a hand, authorities said. The police in Aarhus said that the suspect was seriously wounded, but that his life was not in danger.

The man, who had a permit to live in Denmark, was to be charged Saturday with attempted murder for trying to kill Mr. Westergaard and a police officer, Mr. Scharf said. His name was not released.

Mr. Westergaard, 75, who had his 5-year-old granddaughter on a sleepover, called the police and sought shelter in a specially made safe room in the house, the police said.

Officers arrived two minutes later and tried to arrest the suspect, who wielded an ax at a police officer. The officer then shot the man.

Mr. Westergaard could not be reached for comment. According to his employer, the newspaper Jyllands-Posten, Mr. Westergaard said the assailant had shouted “revenge” and “blood” when trying to enter the room where he and his grandchild had sought shelter.

Mr. Westergaard remains a potential target for extremists nearly five years after he drew a caricature of the Prophet Muhammad wearing a bomb-shaped turban. The drawing was printed along with 11 others in Jyllands-Posten in 2005.

"Ah, now I see what you are pounding at, you mean an 'axe'."

Hard pounding, John M. Joyce, my Good Gentleman. Let's see who pounds the longest with one hand on the keyboard.  Ax me no questions and I'll tell thee no lies about Young Frankentein's  Frau Blücher.  I don't know what effect she had on the mere scum of the earth, but, by God, she frightened Napoleon's Pferd.

The Danish tax-payers should be told how much it costs them every week for the privilege of keeping this animal in their midst.? How long?long will it?be before troofers start telling us that the Creature with the Axe and the ?Knife was a hologram (or perhaps even a thought-form conjured up by kabalists just to give mussslims a bad name). An English relative of Lizzie Borden spoke on the BBC a couple of days ago: she had found a note written by Lizzie, and wanted to know how much it was worth. (Couple of thou more if she spotted it with?some blood, perhaps.)?? I missed the rest of it.? Someone commented later than Lizzie was a sapphic. . . (Don't know whether this was to give lesbians a bad name ... or a good one.)

?Here are the concluding paragraphs of the latest on this jihad ghazwa raid, or attempted assassination a la Marwan's daughter, as found in a news item on the Australian national news website.

According to AFP and BBC, one of Somalia's Al-Shabaab had this to say:

"We appreciate the incident in which a Muslim Somali boy attacked the devil [sic - dda] who abused our Prophet Mohammed and *we call upon all Muslims around the world to target people like [him]", Shebab spokesman Sheikh Ali Muhamud Rage said. ?

"Rage sid for his part, 'there could be some people who might say that boy was related to Shebab or other Islamic organisations, but I tell you that this incident is not something that could be related only to Shebab or other Islamic organisations.

"*It is a general obligation for all Muslims to defend their religion and the prophet {yeah, you absolute barbarian thug, so you would approve of a 77 year old man and his 5 year old grand-daughter being chopped to pieces with an axe to punish the old man for making a drawing of your barbarian thug psychopath 'prophet'? - dda}. ?He really did what was to be done by any other Muslim*". ?END EXCERPT.

Okay, Denmark. ?You got it from the camel's mouth.

And if you look up the Islamic texts and their interpreters, you'll find out that this is exactly how it's supposed to work. '*Every* Muslim is supposed to be one of allah's enforcers, commanding [what Islam thinks is] right and forbidding [what Islam says is] wrong...and such 'commanding' and 'forbidding' does not exclude the use of an axe to assassinate an uppity infidel grandpa and his little granddaughter.

Every Muslim out of Denmark, NOW; for sooner or later, another one of allah's arrogant vigilante enforcers will attempt to impose the barbarism of sharia on a free citizen of Denmark. ?

Else: How many bodies of how many Theo van Goghs cut down in the public square will it take to make non-Muslim countries realize that *any* Muslim can, out of the blue, decide to appoint him or her self judge, jury and executioner, punishing people for...drawing a cartoon about Mohammed, 'offending Islam', not veiling if female], ...or just for the heinous sin of Breathing While Infidel?

"The Replacement Killers"
Or: The Lizzie Borden of Somalia
Or: Kill Kurt Vol. 1
Thank Goodness for Denmark's strict gun control laws, else the 27-year-old Somali, having brought an axe to a home owner's gunfight, might have suffered more serious injury!
Sadly, it was a case of close, but no cigar or Sig Sauer, upon Googling Minnesota's defunct band, The Replacements, having run across their album, Hootenanny, when trying earlier today for some cheap yuks ala JMJ's (favorite coffee Taster's Joyce?) Hogmanay as in New York Mayor Michael "Nurse" Bloomberg pushing the button for the dropping of the New Year's Time Square Ball in his "Nanny State" (see also Muslims and goats) as in the (ht to Wikipedia) "...'balls' of chicken wire filled with old news paper, dried sticks, old cotton rags, and other dry flammable material up to a diameter of 60 cm," but the band member of The Replacements whom(?) my wretched memory attempted to fetch was, not Paul Westergaard, but, rather, Paul WesterbergWhile I don't think that I ever caught The Replacements at the Minneapolis First Avenue (I did manage to see a nostalgia performance of The Vibrators there, though), the lapse was inexcusable given that Minnesota was the home of said Replacements.  Did I mention that my younger son's first name is "Kurt" and that Minnesota is home to an ungodly number of Somalis or that I've spared the Reader a spurious claim that former Attorney General and Governor of New York, "T.S." ( "Times Square") Eliot Spitzer had attempted to ring in the New Year, with, not a Hootenanny or a Hogmanay but, rather, a Hoedown?
Meanwhile, while the 27-year-old Somali, who would have surely given the 74-year-old Westergaard forty whacks with an axe had it not been for the police, might go through the rest of his life with a limp, not unlike the "Chester" tagged by Mr. Fitzgerald or the Claudius (as in "claudication" or as VN didn't write with respect to the "nerve" of a book, "pseudoclaudication") whose ungainly gait shadowed for a time "Marshall" Caligula, there are plenty of potential replacements from a pool of about one billion like-minded, if not always, similarly inclined, members of the ummah (not to be confused with the daughter of Friedrich Karl Johannes von Schlebrügge, and Birgit Holmquist, from Trelleborg, Sweden, Uma Thurman)
It may be worth noting that Denmark, now so low on various and sundry Sig Sauers, once banned, to no avail, cartoons about the Sieg Heil wild bunch (from Jerry Gordon's interview): "Democracy cannot work without free speech. We tried the appeasement in the 30’s. We tried to stop, in 1933, making cartoons that were against Hitler and Nazi Germany.  We shut down until 1940 and Germany occupied us anyway. It was a bitter failure and a lesson learned."
