In Memoriam: Pete Seeger
Share
clear

So farewell, then, Pete
Seeger
Too eager
To believe the best
Of the worst
Where have all the
Flowers gone? You should know
You're pushing them
Up

A  wittily fitting tribute Master Throbb.

From the You-couldn't-make-it-up Department: Old has-beeen folksinger on BBC yesterday, telling us that Seeger lived in fear of his life throughour the late 1940s - 1970s for being a "lefty". Same fool said that he'd only met him once "'Pete', was an incredibly shy person." but had sung with his sister Peggy at (I think) the Royal Festival Hall.  "Can you remember what the song was...?" "Not exactly.  I know it was in praise of Che Guevara..."

Touching elegy. Aged 94. "long time passing", indeed.

And did not realize M Dietrich had no arms. Only at NER.
