Don't give up on Tommy Robinson
Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller have done so already -- if I'm reading the corkscrew of an argument in this post correctly. Giving up is premature, however. I think he's boxing clever.
Listen to him in this clip (h/t Harry's Place).
The Chair of the Islamic Centre in Luton calls for gays (and presumably apostates or non-payers of Jizya) to be killed, but only "in an ideal Islamic state". Tommy Robinson leaps on him with something of the old fire. He then trots out the formulaic "most Muslims don't believe that", rather as Mark Anthony kept saying "and Brutus is an honourable man".
Whether or not it is a consciously thought-out strategy, Robinson's approach may get the counter-jihad message out in the mainstream more effectively than his demonstrations did. He may also be able to expose Quilliam for what it is, and nobody will be able to accuse him of not giving "moderate Islam" a chance.
Perhaps I am too sanguine. Watch this space - Tommy is down but not out.
