Where two persons, being shipwrecked, have got on the same plank, but, finding it not able to save them both, one of them thrusts the other from it, and he is drowned; this homicide is excusable through unavoidable necessity, and upon the great universal principle of self-preservation, which prompts every man to save his own life in preference to that of another, where one of them must inevitably perish.
This appeared in an English law book in 1845, as an instance of the Latin maxim
Ilan Halimi is the Jewish boy who was held for several weeks, repeatedly tortured, and finally killed (that is, died from being tortured) by the "gang des Barbares" -- Arab and African Muslims -- who had heard that a good ransom could be had because "Jews had money." That's the same theme that M'bala M'bala Dieudonne, with his all-in-good-fun antisemitic quenelle salute, has made part of his act.
Ilan Halimi's mother discusses her son, and Dieudonne's effect, at Le Figaro here.
Finley Peter Dunne's Mr. Dooley: "Whin a man says it's not about the money, it's the principle -- it's the money."
Here is a report on a fight between two rival groups of fanatical Muslims in northeastern Syria. If that fight were really only about the money, that would be good. That would make them more like people who can be bought off, or satisfied with loot. But it isn't. It's a fight about the oilfields whose oil can be sold to provide money that can be used to buy guns and bombs and tanks and missiles, in order to bring about the observation, and not only in Syria, of the most basic principle, as both groups see it, of Good Government -- that is, adherence to the Sharia, and governments that owe their legitimacy not to the will expressed by the people, but the will expressed by Allah, and set down in the Qur'an.
Forget the articles about How George Finally Fell. And the articles about his house in Laglio, on the Lago Di Como. And the articles about the ethically-mined emerald-cut diamond, high wide and handsome, free-range and gluten-free, which are on the ring that he genuflectedly offered to Amal.
No, you know what you want to know. You want to know that she's Druse, not Muslim, and that, while in Lebanon the Druse are mostly known to follow their leader, the vicar-of-brayish Walid Jumblatt, who has followed a standard anti-Israel line, but in Israel the Druse serve in the army, especially as border guards, and some have risen high in that army. And the Druse, who live on the Golan Heights (now part of Israel) and in southern Syria, have recently realized, more and more, that the Arab states offer only insecurity, chaos, and real-Muslim persecution, and Israeli rule turns out to be Israeli protection, and Druse minds not only in Israel are becoming friendlier to Israel every day.
And you might be reassured to know that Miss Alamuddin has written about the attempt to bring Hezbollah operatives to account for the murder of Rafik Hariri.
So far, so good.
It isn't what you'll find on Access Hollywood or Extra! or Entertainment Tonight.
But it's exactly what you wanted to know, isn't it?
After yet another adventure in cyberland, we have reappeared once more. There was no attack, it was simply incompetance on the part of our (now former) host server. There is a lot of cleanup and reconstruction to do and we will try to get that done as soon as possible so we can proceed with the new issue.
My email is still down.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Now, I better get to work!
Gunman who Failed to Assassinate Lars Hedegaard Arrested in Denmark
Lars Hedegaard, executive editor, Dispatch International
Founder of Danish and Internatkional free Press Socieities
In the wake of the disturbing news yesterday about the arrest in Winchester, UK of Paul Weston Liberty GB Party leader for quoting Churchill, came stunning news about another free speech defender, Lars Hedegaard, editor of Dispatch International in Copenhagen. Hedegaard is also head of both the Danish and International Free Press Societies. The gunman who failed in an attempt on Hedegaard’s life on February 5, 2013 has been apprehended and arrested by the Danish security police. He has been identified as a 26 year old Danish citizen of Middle East origin.
Here is what we wrote about the harrowing incident:
On February 5, 2013 Lars Hedegaard went to his door in Copenhagen to face a person he thought was a mailman. After handing Hedegaard a package, the “mailman” immediately pulled out a gun and fired a shot barely missing Hedegaard’s head. When the assassin dropped the weapon, a scuffle ensued and the assassin retrieved the gun but failed to fire it a second time promptly fleeing the scene. The perpetrator of this attempted assassination has yet to be apprehended by Danish police. Such are the dangers of being the founder of both the Danish and International Free Press Societies and prosecuted by Danish courts for something protected in the First Amendment of the US Constitution – the right to criticize a religion, Islam.
Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff, Austrian human rights and free speech advocate, commented:
I am heartened to hear that Lars' potential killer has been apprehended. It is my hope that he will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, without any "migrant bonus" as has been the case in far too many instances in Europe.
In our Iconoclast post on August 27, 2013 regarding threats on Hedegaard’s life, following an presentaqtion by we wrote about what prompted the attempt:
Lars Hedegaard, executive editor of DispatchInternational in Copenhagen, published an editorial today expressing outrage about the lack of police responses to death threats he and others have received for exercising their precious rights of free speech criticizing a religion. The editorial was prompted by death threats from Danish and foreign Muslims against Hedegaard and five colleagues. These threats arose from the press conference arranged by The Danish Free Press Society (DFPS) with ex-radical Danish Imam, Ahmed Akkari, last week in Copenhagen. Akkari revealed that virtually all Danish Mosques are led by extremists. Akkari went through a personal transformation through self-introspection prompted by reading a veritable bibliography of Western Enlightenment during long arctic winter nights in Greenland.
Then we spoke about Hedegaard’s ringing defense of free speech in the face of troubling Danish and Western denial:
[We] often remind Hedegaard that he is channeling a mythic Danish figure, Holger Dansk. The legendary Holger Dansk was the Danish warrior for Emperor Charlemagne who never lost a battle and whose statue rests in the catacombs of the Kronberg palace in Copenhagen. Holger Danske’s statue depicts him partially asleep a sword in his lap waiting for the signal to spring into battle to protect fellow Danes. Holger Danske was the symbol of the Danish resistance during the Nazi occupation in World War Two. Hedegaard knows how his fellow Danes are sowing the seeds of self destruction by diminishing their freedoms and liberties while heedlessly protecting the forces of their destruction, radical Islamists in their midst. Politically correct leftist multiculturalists in power in Denmark and elsewhere in the EU are abetting their agenda; infiltration and Islamization of the West. We in America must be ever vigilant to prevent that from occurring here. As Hedegaard said about his own legal battles in Denmark,“This is a fight for liberty against tyranny. It will be long and hard but losing is no option.”
This article, on the failure, and possibly inevitable failure, of "democracy" in a baker's dozen of Arab countries and the possible success of "democracy" in only one of them, is missing two key words.
The first is of five letters. And that word would help explain, would almost completely explain, the failure to obtain and keep
"democracy" and why, in 13 of the 14 countries discussed, despotism has never left or has returned.
The second is of six letters, and explains why Tunisia is a special case, and just might succeed in some version of "democracy."
From Malaysia, Where Muslims Are On The March, Obama Presumes To Tell The Burmese Buddhists What They Can Do
Here you can find Obama, at a Town Hall in a country which, through its Bumiputra system, favors Muslims over Chinese and Hindus, forcing them to pay a disguised Jizyah, and where Hindu temples have been routinely razed, and Chinese, both Christians and Confucians, put constantly on edge by Muslim demands and pressures, presuming to preach to the Burmese, telling them they must not "oppress" the Muslims of Burma. Does he know, I wonder, anything about the history of the Bengali Muslims who entered northern Burma, and who have been attacking Buddhists -- driving them out entirely of some regions, by killling many and scaring off the rest -- or does he not? I don't think he does. He can talk all he wants about Getting On The Right Side Of History, but shouldn't he being to study a little of the relevant history? What does his staff do all day? What kind of preparatory material, bullet-riddled executive summaries and so on, are prepared? Who prepares them -- is it people fresh out of American colleges or law schools, unlikely to have any idea what constitutes sufficient knowledge? What do such people themselves know about anything? There are plenty of people who have studied history, received doctorates in history, but are eking out existences as adjuncts, or even unemployed, all over this land. Why are they not hired by the government to help such people as Obama, and those others in the State Department, learn what they need to learn.
The cartoon on left published 60 years ago this month in the “Yakhine Tanzaung Magazine” (1953 January) accurately depicted in just one-page-panel the unimaginable sufferings of native Yakhine-Buddhists in Maungdaw and Butheedaung Townships back in the 1950s.
While native Yakhine-Buddhists were lying dead at the stomping feet of laughing Mujahid Giant — in his hand was a terrified Yakhine girl going to be devoured — and while Yakhine-Buddhist families were fleeing from their ancestral homes in their villages being burned down by Bengali-Muslims coming from East Pakistan (now Bangladesh), Burma’s then Prime Minister U Nu (a so-called devout Buddhist) was peacefully and comfortably meditating in Rangoon under the protection of armed soldiers who wouldn’t lift a finger to help his fellow Yakhine-Buddhists greatly suffering under Bengali-Muslims’ genocidal assaults.
That single comical and cartoonish illustration from more than 60 years ago still accurately reflects what has been still going on right now in our Arakan.
Under the great leadership of Burmese Buddhists like President Thein Sein and that Nobel-laureate Aung San Suu Kyi who really desire themselves to be portrayed as “Peace-loving Great Statesmen” we the native Yakhine-Buddhist are still being raped and burned and murdered by the illegal Bengali-Muslim immigrants from Bangladesh exactly same as what were happening and being depicted in that single comical illustration exactly 60 years ago.
Actually that armed solider doing nothing but quietly standing with a rifle on his shoulder at the lower-right corner of that cartoon even reminded me of now-disgraced-and-jailed Colonel Aung Gyi the absolutely corrupt Na-Sa-Ka Chief who deliberately didn’t give the order to shoot at the illegal Bengali-Muslims rioting and burning down the whole Maungdaw town in June 2012.
Colonel Aung Gyi the Maungdaw Border Control Chief who refused to fire at Bengali-Muslim rioters in 2012 Maungdaw Riots was fired and jailed.
In 1942 alone Bengali-Muslim illegals had murdered at least 70,000 to 100,000 native Yakhine-Buddhists during the lawless chaos as the British colonial masters were being suddenly driven out of Burma by invading Japanese Army at the beginning of WW2.
Later during the so-called Armed-Democracy under U Nu and Socialist Pha-sa-pa-la rule, started in 1948 and eventually ended by General Ne Win’s bloodied military coup in 1962, at least 200 to 300 Yakhine and Burmese villages were totally destroyed and their Buddhist inhabitants massacred by the Mujahid insurgents (Kalar-zoe) of those same Bengali-Muslim illegals from Bangladesh.
Those Buddhist and Yakhine villages with surrounding fertile-paddy-lands and adjacent plentiful-fishing-grounds violently taken over by the Bengali-Muslim genociders are still being illegally occupied nowadays by the Bengali-Muslim descendants of those genocidal Bengali-Muslims from 1940s and 1950s.
Today all these large Bengali-Muslim or Kalar villages with traditional Buddhist names like Tha-beik-taung (Alms-bowl-mountain), Thain-taung (Monastery-hall-mountain), and Kyaung-daw (Royal-Monastery) etcetera were Burmese or Yakhine-Buddhist villages originally.
And anyone with a right mind can easily reach a conclusion that those original Buddhists would not just peacefully transfer their large ancestral villages into the brutal hands of Bengalis (or East-Pakistanis back then) whose evil religion Islam has never ever tolerated our gentle religion Buddhism.
They had to leave their villages and their fertile paddy lands and their plentiful fishing grounds into the hands of evil Muslims just only because they were being ROBBED-RAPED-BURNED-KILLED by the Bengali-Muslim illegals in 1940s and 1950s. Those Buddhist villagers were forced to leave or their lives were simply terminated by the genocidal Bengali-Muslims.
During those days in the 1940s and 50s there were no worldwide media reaching remote places like Norther-SArakan, UN wasn’t even heard of, no INGOs were there, and forget about the International Red Cross (ICRC). No Buddhist had ever dared or even known their legal-birth-rights to demand the resettlement and reoccupation of their ancestral villages.
Surrendering of Mujahid Rebels in 1960
Unlike what so-called Rohingyas (Bengali-Muslims) are now demanding as if their ancestors had been living there a thousand years even though their fathers and grandfathers had crossed the Naff River and violently driven the original Buddhist inhabitants out of their ancestral land by 1942 Islamic genocide and subsequent massacres.
The Bengali-Muslims’ self-proclaimed race “Rohingya” invented only in 1951 was not widely known or used during those days and even the 1953 Cartoon described the commonly-hated Benglai-Muslims as Mujahids adapted from their own term “The Mujahid Rebellion” started in late 1940s by the Bengali-Muslims of Maungdaw and Butheedoung wildly dreaming to secede from the Union of Burma and join the Islamic East Pakistan (now Bangladesh after 1971 Bangladeshi War of Independence from Pakistan).
The term Rohingya was first mentioned in the Burma Parliament in 1951 by Muslim Maungdaw Pha-sa-pa-la MP Abdul Zor Phor after that power-mad and mildly-delusional U Nu abandoned Yakhine-Buddhists and made a deal with devil by forming un-holy alliance with Bengali-Muslims so that he would win the general elections just merely by Muslim votes which were a substantial voting-block in post-colonial Burma. And he did of course win every election till Ne Win kicked his mad-arse out and put him in jail for a very long time in 1962.
Modern day Bengali-Muslim Mujahids
Later in that same year of 1953 BA Ba Thar a Muslim editor started referring the Maungdaw-Butheedaung Bengali-Muslims as Rohingyas in his Guardian Newspaper till Ne Win’s Military Government stopped it.
Of course the sole reason for that invented race Rohingya was to re-establish their Bengali-Muslim illegals as a so-called thousand-years-old ethnic tribe of Burma after they had lost their little war of secession in their failed Mujahid Rebellion. Burmese called that Bengali rebellion “Kalar-zoe Insurgency (Bad-Kalar Insurgency)”.
The term “Rohingya” as a new race is a strategic about-turn to survive and also is a propagandized term to garner international support in their fight to keep on holding their illegally-attained lands from the native Yakhine-Buddhists who have every right to take their ancestral lands back.
The sad irony is that even though the Saudi-funded and OIC-sponsored Bengali-Muslim political elite exiling in the rich countries like US and UK and European countries has been establishing their race as self-invented “Rohingya” widely and internationally their so-called Rohingya people have never used that term for themselves till just few years ago.
St George's Day with March for England in Brighton 2014
Regular readers may remember that every St George's Day for the last six years March for England have held a parade in the Sussex seaside town (yes I know the place has a 'city' charter these days. Cities have cathedrals, a port, industry, great history; Brighton is a seaside resort) What was conceived as a family parade to celebrate our patron saint has suffered such opposition from the anti-fascists and fellow travellers in Brighton that it has become an act of defiance to those who wish to undermine England and the English. You can see the particularly disgraceful scenes from 2012 of masked anarchists, UAF and antifa hurling bottles and filth here.
This year the Casuals decided to prepare well in advance. A preliminary expedition dressed in black with scarves over their faces so confused the police such that they announced that this year they would not be on the march but would mingle with the crowd, indisinguishable from Antifa, black-bloc at al until an appropriate moment. After liasion with the police the police announced that no face coverings at all would be permitted.
As we entered Brighton the usual posters and stickers were well in evidence. Stop the MFE etc, as well as general Down with the police! We hate the Government! Down with Skool! posters.
But the knots of black clad, faceless, stick and poster wielding youths were conspicuous by their absence.
This is the Mail on Sunday's report of Brighton today, Lunacy of the Town that turned Green One of the things it mentions is the town's neglected infrastructure, which led to part of the promenade falling into the beach pub below last week which affected the route of the march slightly. This year they mustered at the bottom of West Street ready to march along the seafront to the pier and back. The UAF protestors were to be contained on the pavement of the prom, above the beach with their backs to the sea.
I overheard a police officer briefing his team. " Right men, today we have the power to order removal of all masks, and we are going to use it."
There did not seem to be so many protestors lining up against March for England at all this year. There were the usual woolley aged leftie types and a lot of students. I don't know how much this reduction in the anti-fascist numbers was due to the weather (cool with showers) or the ban on face-coverings.
They wanted to "Stop the March for England". They failed.
By going onto the beach, then climbing the stairs to the prom we were able to stand behind the UAF, who couldn't come down to the beach as their path was blocked by heras fencing. We watched MfE and their supporters make their way towards the pier.
A Puma police officer is one with a small team from outside Sussex. We spotted officers and vehicles from London (Met) City of London, Hamshire, Thames Valley (Mounted Division), Hampshire, Surrey and Kent.
The Brighton Argus has pictures of Antifa flags being confiscated. This is the only one I saw. Designer shades and dreadlocks instead of bandit masks. I didn't notice any Trade Union banners this year either.
The protestors followed MfE along the prom, then back again from the pier.
The English Disco Lovers are trying to reclaim the initials 'EDL'. Don't they know, as we were told in previous years, that Brighton is not English? Perhaps for today they were the Euro Disco Lovers. The Everyman Disco Lovers? No, not gender neutral. Maybe the Everyperson's Disco Lovers. Those black plastic bags are protecting their glitterballs, in case you were wondering.
Like the Mail on Sunday said - Green Lunacy.
Mummy help me, I'm being stalked by a Druid
As Michael Gove said, history is taught so disjointedly that all that pupils know is the Nazis (and Henry VIII)
Coming back from the pier. We got behind the police lines to watch them come back to the muster/dispersal point.
Cry havock and unleash the dogs of (keeping the ) peace
The parade was led into West Street
Where a very small group was waiting with the usual shouts of 'Nazi filth'
The police escorted the marchers in small groups up the hill to the station, while the helicopter observed overhead.
We didn't follow the marchers to the station. I had a brief word with some of the committee of MfE who were discussing the end of the parade with the police. I am of the opinion that MfE and their supporters behaviour was exemplary.
The Brighton Argus reported that at the station both groups had to be kettled for a period but that MfE had left the area by 3pm. Also " Skirmishes between police and anti-fascists are continuing."
I believe that all the later arrests were of anti-fascists. The Argus live blog reported at 6.30pm a policewoman, separated from her unit had been attacked by anti-fascists but was not badly hurt. In case the live blog is taken down overnight I made a copy.
Sussex Police seek witnesses to the assaults here. To end on a more pleasant note these are 3 horses from Thames Valley named Odin, Thor and Samson, and Lionel from the City of London.

Read about it -- a single, tendentious statement, just as he has embraced Hamas, and after a life time of joining other Arabs in minimizing, or denying, or applauding the German murders (with the approval and help of many non-Germans too numerous to mention) --- here.
The Der-Sturmer-like antisemitism to be seen every day in the "Palestinian" press and radio and on its television, including the programs that instill murderous hatred of Jews in the "Palestinian" Arab children, cannot be dismissed or ignored or forgotten.. Mahmoud Abbas's own history as a doctoral student in Moscow, where his dissertation (which if he didn't write himself -- so many of the Arabs in Moscow as in the West pay locals to do the research and write their theses for them, so they can pocket the degree -- he at least ordered up the theme, and approved of its contents) was devoted to minimizing, if not quite outright denying, the murder of European Jewry (it's called by some "Holocaust denial").
Now, having joined with Hamas, which is devoted to destroying the Jews of Israel (and Jews elsewhere, unless they can prove that they are not, by their mere existence, promoting "Zionism"), Abbas has felt the need -- that is, Western PR experts perhaps sent by the Obama administration or by the EU bureaucracy -- to denounce the European murders of Jews as "the most heinous crime" etc. And a corollary to this is the theme: but why should Jews, who have suffereed, now become the oppressors? Why should the poor Arabs ("Palestinians") pay for the sins of Europe and its anitsemites? And there are people just waiting to believe this, to ignore the entire history of Islam's attitude toward non-Muslims, and to ignore, in particular, the attitudes and behavior of Muslim Arabs toward the Jews in the Land of Israel before, during, and after the creation of the singlee Jewish state.
It's all transparent, and it's worthless, and it's disgusting. It has nothing to do with any real feelings or understanding. It has to do with promoting the "Palestinian" cause, which is to create indefensiblee borders for, in the hope of ultimately eliminating, the only Jewish state in the world. Avaricious and meretricious Mahmoud Abbas can do the hokey-pokey all he wants, but that's what it's all about.
I'm just catching up with the news after my holiday, and note that Tony Blair has said something not entirely stupid about "Islamism". The Spectator's Douglas Murray corrects him, but must, in his turn, be corrected:
Referring to the problems across the Middle East [Blair] said:
‘At the root of the crisis lies a radicalised and politicised view of Islam, an ideology that distorts and warps Islam’s true message. The threat of this radical Islam is not abating. It is growing. It is spreading across the world. It is de-stabilising communities and even nations. It is undermining the possibility of peaceful co-existence in an era of globalisation. And in the face of this threat we seem curiously reluctant to acknowledge it and powerless to counter it effectively.’
All of which is frustrating, because Tony Blair is so nearly there. After all, this is a man who, in office, only ever trotted out (as George Bush did, as David Cameron does, as absolutely everyone does when they are in office) the message that Islam is a ‘religion of peace.’
Nowadays, with interviews and speeches like this one, Blair gets huge headlines and is occasionally congratulated for admitting that it may be more complicated than this. But as he edges towards the truth of the situation, he is still a step away from facing up to the reality.
Here is what he would say if he wanted to be wholly truthful:
‘At the root of the crisis lies a radicalised and politicised view of Islam, an ideology that – while obviously the worst version of Islam going – nevertheless has a long tradition. The extremists mainstream Muslims do not make their claims based on some wild misreading, but on a plausible reading of the texts and traditions which have existed within the religion since its founding. In order to confront this, and defeat the extremists Islam, we cannot simply pretend that these problems do not exist. Non-Muslims must be unafraid to point them out and to say that there are extremist Islamic attitudes which remain permissible in mainstream Islam – such as the second-class status of women, the mandating of death for those who leave Islam – which go wholly against our own most deeply held beliefs. And it is vital that Muslims do everything they can to face up to the challenges which these extreme elements pose within their faith leave Islam if they can. Rather than denying that these questions of interpretation exist, or brushing them under the carpet, it is incumbent upon Muslims everywhere to do everything they can to anathematise and stigmatise the extremists and to chase them and their readings out of the religion. leave Islam. Muslims must face up to the problems of the tradition and overcome them, rather than deny that they exist. The process of denial only emboldens and strengthens the extremists Islam while simultaneously making it easier for some non-Muslims to crudely and cruelly lump all Muslims in the extremist camp. see taqiyya for what it is. This is a matter of urgency.
Now, that would be a speech worthy of a former Prime Minister who – having made a good livingan obscene amout of money and with no need to search for higher office – should speak the whole truth, rather than portions of it, without favour or fear.
C minus to Blair, B minus to Murray. Talking of corrections, Caitlin Moran writes in The Times of the inflated London housing market:
You know this “never-ending bubble” is a tautology – no bubble lasts for ever.
A never-ending bubble would only be a tautology if it did last for ever. Besides, you can always make more of them:
